Before we knew it, planning committee meetings had started, participants for the 2019 event were sought and now we’re just waiting for June 9 to roll around to give you all a glimpse into what’s happening in Edmonton’s culinary community.

This year’s event takes place on Monday, June 10 at the Delta Edmonton South (4404 Gateway Blvd) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets go on sale May 1, which proceeds going to the Junior League of Edmonton.

Our tickets go on sale on May 1. You’ll be able to find information about purchasing on that day here on our website. They went fast last year, so make a point of visiting indulgenceedmonton.ca on May 1 to make sure you get yours.

An updated list of participants, some new and many returning, will be updated on this website as the information becomes available. ]]> Indulgence presents NAIT Awards with $26,000 to start culinary bursary /2011/06/22/indulgence-presents-nait-awards-with-26000-to-start-culinary-bursary/ Wed, 22 Jun 2011 02:04:18 +0000 /?p=213 Edmonton, AB, June 21, 2011 – On Monday, June 13, Indulgence a Canadian epic of food and wine celebrated its 11th year, over $200,000 raised for the Junior League of Edmonton and a brand new NAIT culinary bursary. At the annual event, Indulgence co-founder and past co-chair Mary Bailey presented a cheque of $26,000 to Louise Charron of NAIT Awards to start the Slow Food Indulgence Bursary.

This new $1500 Slow Food Indulgence annual bursary will be available to NAIT culinary grads to fund a stage at a farm, vineyard or in locovore restaurants and purveyors. The funding has come from a decade of Indulgence budgets, ably managed by treasurer Joanne Tkachuk; a decade of wineries, farmers and restaurants funding the Indulgence bursary via registration fees.

Not only does the bursary aim to encourage culinary alumni’s personal and professional knowledge of and connection with farm to table gastronomy, but it also continues the serious work of Indulgence — introducing farmers to chefs to continue growing our unique Northern Alberta gastronomic culture.

Indulgence a Canadian epic of food and wine is an annual Slow Food event that aims to introduce farmers to chefs to build relationships, foster modern gastronomic traditions of food and wine and introduce Edmontonians to our excellent local producer’s offerings, prepared by our top culinary talent, and paired with world-class Canadian wines.

As much as this year’s winter seemed to hang around forever, we can’t believe that it’s almost May and only a little more than a month out from this year’s Indulgence, a Canadian epic of food and wine.

Next Monday, tickets go on sale to the public (check back for a direct link to the online purchasing site next Monday) and we’ve now finalized our list of participants for this year’s event. Everyone has been paired up and they’re now working together on their menus. We can’t wait to see what they have up their sleeves! I’ll bet you can’t either!
